The first single from YABADA AFRICA is Qula Kwedini, a hot afro house Xhosa single. The Qula Kwedini track is essentially inspired by a variety of life events and experiences gained and accumulated over time. Most interestingly, the Nguni school initiation program when boys are taken to the mountain and made men. The process and practices that they undergo require them to commit themselves, to be strong and ‘Qula’ (stick fighting) whilst asserting themselves to other boys that they’re ready to become men. The song gives them strength, courage, love and spirit to conquer, to be confident, to leave no stones unturned, and most importantly not to fear anything but have faith in the process. The song is inspired by artist Zim Ngqawana who composed and released the song in 1998.
Yabada Africa album has been in the making for 2 years and was manifested through faith, hard work and dedication.
